This week, we shared a list of 25 smart home technologies at the forefront of smart home innovation. The list combines our favorite products from CES with data from a survey of our sales associates that we released earlier this week. The survey found that 62 percent of real estate agents are seeing more buyers interested in controlling their home through smart devices now than they were just two years ago. It’s clear, people are captivated by the “home of the future,” and it’s nearly here!
Automated homes, otherwise known as smart or connected homes, are homes that can be electronically controlled. Controlled household features include a variety of functions, ranging from security to temperature. Connected homes operate through advanced hardware and electronic interfaces that cause devices to be interconnected, also known as the Internet of Things, or IoT.
The ability to remotely control the entire home environment with a push of a button, combined with the energy and cost savings benefits are making the connected home more and more appealing and accessible for all homeowners. For example, the Nest Thermostat reported saving users on average $131 to $145 per year.
Nest also has the ability to connect with other products on our smart home technologies list including: LG Appliances, Phillips Hue, Kwikset Kevo Smart Lock, Lutron Caseta Wireless, Whirlpool Smart Font Load Washer and Dryer and Big Ass Fans. With capabilities that touch all home features, Nest is creating the ultimate connected home experience.
